Remote recording

Dear artists, composers, arrangers, and producers:

Weather you need to record a flute section for an orchestral project, flute parts for a big band production, or improvised parts for a commercial release, I can accommodate any recording scenario. For commercial music, I track flutes with a Mojave 300. For classical flute sound, I add either 2 Mojave 100’s or 2 AKG 414 in a large hall. The signal is processed through a 4-710d Universal Audio Preamplifier, and then recorded in either Pro Tools, Cubase, Ableton Live, or Reason. I also use high-grade Antelope clocking and AD/DA converters.

I’ve tracked for music productions and video games in the U.S., Europe and Asia. If you need pristine flute tracks, send me a message and I’ll be happy to make new friends and record your music!

Tracking flute parts for Kyle Gordon’s Technicolor.

Here’s the process

  1. Write a message with the recording inquiry to setup a time to discuss details.

  2. Send an MP3 or WAV file with pre-mixed background tracks, and a PDF with sheet music. If the music is not written, then send a message indicating where you would like me to Play.

  3. Based upon agreement, you will receive a number of flute tracks with same start and end points as your reference audio track so you can easily sync them with the full mix. I can record on sample rates up to 192 kHz and 32 bit-float.

Daniel’s flute tracks are GREAT! Love the sound, performance, vibrato…They make a big difference to my music, really bringing it to life!
— RICHARD JACQUES -FILM COMPOSER (JAMES BOND 007: BLOOD STONE AND ALICE IN WONDERLAND)
What a joy to write for Daniel Pardo! Concerto for Folded Space called for some 56 separate tracks. Daniel played them all at the virtuoso level! He is simply a world-class musician of the highest order.
— STEVE WIEST -GRAMMY-NOMINATED COMPOSER & ARRANGER
Daniel is a superb flute player and his sensitivity as a musician allows him to play with proper character and style in any genre...
— Kyle Gordon - Award winner composer and arranger

Here are some examples of remotely recorded flutes at my studio, later merged with orchestras or small ensemble

My One and Only Love by Guy Wood and Robert Mellin. This tune was arranged by Kyle Gordon. We recorded each member of the orchestra individually and then we mixed it at my studio. It took a couple days, but it was neat to build a string section and then a whole orchestra this way.

Where In The World Are You? by Richard Jacques. Richard had a quick deadline and he needed flute parts recorded while he flew from L.A. to London. The rest of the ensemble is made of members of the London Symphony.

Deusa by Brasuka. Brasuka is a band from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They recorded some of the instruments at a commercial studio and the rest at my studio, where I added melodica, flute parts.

Here are some samples of recordings with big band. The first one is Pat Metheny’s First Circle. The production is by Barry Oosterwaal and Robin Bogert in the Netherlands. The second snippet is from Drew Zaremba’s Blue Yonder, presented at the Jazz Education Network conference (USA).
